I.H.T. and the Pentax Shareholder Comment

You can always count on the culture of business to stick its foot in its mouth by saying or doing something indifferent to the larger culture's welfare. Of course, greed often goes without reprocussions until it's too large to ignore for the 6 o'clock news (who can ignore quite a bit). In the meanwhile, it's in the papers. One such small story, relating to Pentax in a secondhand sort of way, came up last week in the International Herald Tribune. I really don't want to speculate on something that I can't at least pretend to understand, so if you're interested in reading what a shareholder of Pentax had to say regarding his advice to Pentax about whether it's smart to stay in the digital camera game, then feel free. Otherwise, try to remember two things not mentioned in his personal comments: the Pentax brand name for quality optics was built on SLR cameras and that their partner Samsung is pretty deft in today's digital marketplace. And if you're reading this blog, I hope you can see reason enough to appreciate Pentax's presence.
