Pentax AF 540 FGZ Flash - Finally Available

After being announced sometime ago for release in May, the Pentax AF 540 FGZ was reported to have been shipped out to retailers last month, waiting for release. Well, the wait for consumers appear to be over and B&H Photo and others are now selling them, at around $340 US.

The AF 540 FGZ is the follow up to Pentax's AF 360 FGZ and replaces the AF 500 FTZ flash (now phased out). It's similarly designed for full manual and TTL control, whether on-camera, as a wired slave, or as a wireless slave (only with the MZ-SD, *ist D, or another FGZ flash).

You can follow some of the craving in this thread at DP Review, as the AF 540 FGZ will likely have improved P-TTL exposure control with the latest *ist cameras released in the last few years.
