Pentax Japan Releases Pentax Photo Lab Software 3.0 Upgrade

Well, Japan, being ahead in the time zone game, gets the goods early again. Pentax Japan has released the free upgrade to v.3 of their Pentax Photo Lab software today. Again, if you live in another country I advise you to wait patiently for it to be released at your region's Pentax website, to avoid problems with support issues. It's available for Mac OS X (59MB) and PC (37MB) and requires PPL v.2 to be presently installed on your computer for the upgrade. It is not a standalone program (you'll need to buy a new K100D or K110D for that!).

Here's what you can expect: The SILKYPIX rendering offers some improvement in image sharpening and noise reduction, as well as lens correction.

Pochidayo's blog has some fine examples of the results of using the new upgrade of Pentax Photo Lab v.3 and he demonstrates the effectiveness of the new noise reduction capabilities (in English). Thank you very much Pochi for your photos!
